For some reason, they always target the band geeks....

I hate band contest. Really. They always give us the earliest possible time slot, we just happen to sound terrible, and while practicing, people decide to add an extra shot of annoying to the morning latte.
But, even with the lack of sleep and idiots who were convinced that we were performing at the junior high, not the high school, none of put me in a super bad mood.
Okay, it annoyed the bloody hell out of me, but it only put me in sort of a bad mood.
Then my pseudo boyfriend decided he'd rather hang out with his cute timpani playing sort-of-slutty "friend" than me.
And has either forgotten or doesn't feel the need to speak to me since Thursday afternoon.
Seriously, one day it's all good. We hung out like usual, talking, nothing special, and then by 6:30, concert time, I'm invisible.
Because our little friend needed help "tuning the timpanis".
And it SUCKS, because I'm pissed and feeling used and have spent pretty much all day moping, but he's NOT MY BOYFRIEND. Sure, I like this guy, he's one of my best friends, but we're not officially "dating", so if I tell the little tone-deaf slut to back off, I'm just a jealous loser who obviously took things the wrong way.
For approximately 6 months, anyway.
Yep. I'm that bad at reading boy signals, apparently.
And he's not exactly telling her to back off. He loves the attention, I can tell.
It makes me SO MAD, because it's not like she's so much better than me.
Sure, she's cute, and sort of musical, but she's annoying and dumbs herself down so much that she's borderline retarded.
I have never dumbed myself down in my whole freaking life and know what a frigging key signature is.
But she's got more to offer.
And, come Monday, all this moping will have been for nothing. Oh, that was just a misunderstanding, he really likes me and he didn't know she bugged me (B.S.), but whatever, I'll probably accept his apology because I'm an idiot like that.
Either that, or we're no longer "friends" or whatever we were. We weren't "just friends", but we weren't "dating", and we weren't stupid enough to be "friends with benefits".
Ugh, and I hate the fact that this girl REALLY ISN'T THAT BAD OF A PERSON. I LIKE her. She's not my friend, but she's REALLY nice. Sort of a tease, but NICE! We can talk about politics like nobody's business and be on the same side, and she's been nothing but nice to me.
Except for hitting on the guy I like. And just about every other male in the school.
So it's really confusing to watch her throw herself at him, and then give me a friendly "hello" while I'm putting my trombone together.
Band Contest wasn't even that bad yesterday, the lack of sleep and musical idiots ("Oooooh, that's a B Flat?") notwithstanding. I saw Emily for the first time in like, what, a year? It was really cool to see her because she's so optimistic and always happy and she can put herself into any situation and get along with people. We talked for a little bit and it was the high point of my day, but I probably won't see her again for another year or two.
But then we had to go back to school.
Ugh. At least if I'd tuned those freaking timpanis, they would have actually been in tune. That's supposed to be an E, sweetheart, not an F#.

WE WANT YOU!

Wow. It has been an insane week.
The teachers decided to bombard us with random projects and essays, so I've been really busy.
And I got sick. Again.
The second my teacher mentioned a virus going around the school, I started sneezing my brains out.
Thanks, Mr. Hurd.
Wow. No wonder the "Rent" movie flopped. I saw a recording of the last performance last night and...wow. Coarse, yeah. My parents were flinching at every F-word and put their foot down on watching the "sex scene". (I watched it later and it's a little offensive, but there is no nudity, just sexual dialogue. And I got what Jonathan Larson was trying to show. These three couples' relationships have been strained recently and a night of bad sex is the last straw for all of them. And I'm still the same no-sex-before-marriage person I was before, so while I don't condone that, I understand it. My mom thought it was showing how all the relationships were based only on sex, but I disagree.) And it was so much more powerful, open, and raw than the movie ever could have been (no offense, Chris Columbus. Nice try.). Mark was an actual, 3-dimensional character, not just a background image. Benny seemed like a worthwhile person who'd bought in the system, but still loved his friends more than anything and would have done anything for them. And Roger, my least favorite character from the movie, was less of an arrogant, angsty jerk and more of a human being. You could see that he had trouble opening up, was scared of what the future would bring, and your heart broke when you saw him lose the one thing (or person) that made him so happy.
And, since it was the last performance, the original cast came up on the stage afterward and everyone was bawling through a rendition of "Seasons of Love". That's when I lost it.
And as much as Jonathan Larson hated Christians, the church, and religion, his parents were some of the nicest, most open, and loving "religious" people ever. It was great to see them with all the cast members, regardless of sexuality or whatnot. And they were so proud of their son and it sucks to think he never got to see how many people he reached with his musical.
Dustin Lance Black's acceptance speech for "Milk" last night reminded me of the musical, because he was gay, and had always hoped that he would one day fall in love and get married. But the part that hit me the most was when he gave a shout out to all the gay and lesbian teens and told them that they were beautiful and that God did, in fact, love them. And I just started crying, because it's true, but a lot of Christians don't think that, and even those that do have a hard time showing it, because the media assumes that if we hold our stance on gay marriage, we somehow hate gays, but it's not true.
And, just like it's possible for Christians to love non-Christians, it's possible for Christians (or regular people) to be gay. It's not right, I do think it's a sin, but they're not faking their love.
Just saying.
Phew. Now to rant about something else.
Ugh, like "Twice Upon a Marigold". "Once Upon a Marigold" has been my favorite book for 6 years, and when I saw the sequel at Borders, I just about had a stroke. Then I read it, and while it was okay, it seemed a little pointless. Jean Farris only wrote the book because fans wanted to know what happened next, and I felt like she didn't really answer that question, which was irritating. I never wanted "Once Upon a Marigold" to end; I couldn't wait for "Twice Upon a Marigold" to end.
Oh, and I am in love with Peter Abrahams. His Echo Falls series is the bomb. It's hard for me to put down his books.
Laaaaame two of my best friends started dating. They're a good fit for each other, and they seem really happy, but it is SO awkward to hang out with them as a couple. It was even more awkward when I was the third wheel at a sort-of date. It was like they were more comfortable with me there, but they didn't actually want me there. They didn't want me to leave, but they weren't going to make it easy. So I just left.
And I've noticed a bunch of my girlfriend's think is totally okay behavior, to invite friends along on their dates. WHAT THE HECK?? One of my friends kept avoiding dates with her boyfriend, stating, "It would be too awkward if it was just us."
??????
SO?????? Isn't that the point? "I'd be more comfortable if you were there."
??????
I'M NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND.
Yeah, fun weekend. "Rent" was so worth it, though. Why did it have to close???

Bestiality abounds

"Barbie and the Magic of the Pegasus": NOT okay.
That and "The Island Princess" were in the dollar bin at the rummage sale, so I bought both.
Aaaah. That movie was not kid appropriate.
The villain was a crazy polygamist!!
He'd been married three times!!
And he was an abusive husband!!
And he was so insecure that he made his wives ugly so he could boss them around and prey on their insecurities.
Great message for little girls, right?
And the little polar bear kept randomly dry-humping people, and it was supposed to be "cute".
NOT OKAY.
And the morals of the story: Take everything literally. Your parents will always love you. Abusive husbands are really insecure, balding men. Never trust a British accent. If a horse claims to be your sister, don't fight it; go with the flow.
Ugh, so frustrated with Barnes&Noble.
I had $30 worth of Barnes&Noble gift cards to spend, so my mom and I went over to check it out.
And, believe it or not, they were having a sale on DVDs! Buy 2, get 1 free! It seemed too good to be true!
Right.
They failed to mention that their DVDs are ridiculously overpriced, so you actually buying not only 1, but 2 DVDs would be pretty much impossible.
"As You Like it"? $26!!!!!
!!!!!!!!
I could find the exact same movie at Walmart for $15!!!!
"Enchanted"?? $20!!!!!
"Rent"? Not in stock.
AAaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
The final straw was accidentally setting off the alarm by carrying unbought books into the music section.
I just about started crying, but I opted for a screaming fit instead.
Right. A screaming fit. In the middle of Barnes & Noble.
I think I freaked the guy out. He kept saying, "It's okay! Chill out! Don't worry! It's going to be okay!"
But I bought 2 books I'm actually pretty excited about, so all's well that ends well?
The snooty book customers think otherwise.
Whatever. Get back to your overpriced lattes, suckers.

Apple juice!!!!

"Cinderella Story" is no longer on my list of favorite movies.
And not just because Chad Michael Murray can't act.
But, after watching it once again last night, I realized that Austin is a JERK. He's shallow and stupid and CREEPY.
I mean, he doesn't recognize the girl he's seen at the diner on a regular basis, when she's wearing a dinky little mask. Not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
He believes Shelby when she says Sam concocted the whole plan to humiliate Austin. And then he believes SAM should apologize because his pride's been hurt. Let's see, your dad now knows you don't want to go to USC, and everyone hates Sam and is either shunning or ridiculing her. But your pride is more important, Austin.
When he runs over to kiss at the end of the movie, he leaves the game at a very pivotal point, letting down his dad, his school, his friends, and his team!! But at least he got the girl!
>:(
And Carter is SUCH A GOOD FRIEND. My estrogen levels must be REALLY high, because I started bawling when he came and gave Sam a hug after her confrontation with Austin in the locker room. And even if she and Carter are JUST FRIENDS (which they so obviously were), Sam deserves a guy who's nice to her like Carter was! Even Terry, who was "geeky" and therefore didn't deserve to be Sam's boyfriend (even though she wasn't exactly Miss Popularity), was polite and chivalrous, and better than that stupid, misogynistic, commitment-phobic self-obsessed LOSER Austin Ames.
The Prince or Princess quiz was very entertaining, though. Carter is, without a doubt, my perfect prince, but there was some debate over whether Sam or Astrid was my perfect princess. I would normally pick Astrid, but that would mean peace ralleys, indie music, a "totally rad scene", and vegetarianism.
Fun.
Princess Diaries Theories
I thought these all up last night and they sort of make sense.

1. Philippe gets someone pregnant AGAIN (though it was once believed that he was sterile) and marries them, thereby producing a new heir to the throne of Genovia, relieving Mia of her princess duties.
But there's that whole thing about Genovia not being a principality any more, so we'll have to work around that.

2. Rene wins the election (it's alluded to in book #4, so it could happen) and Mia relinquishes her princess duties.

3. Mia, instead of picking JP or Michael, picks neither and decides to wait for her perfect prince to come much later in the future.

4. Mia and Michael get back together (aaaaaargh).

5. Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no....this can't BE!!! Some people think Mia and Prince Rene are going to END UP TOGETHER!!
WHY?? That just underminded the ENTIRE series, and that ending would bring to mind "Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement", which was preachy and boring and SUCKED a lot, Garry Marshall. That is, in essence, having her end up with Nick, only Nick is Rene in this case. DANG IT! NO, MEG CABOT, NO!!
And he just knocked someone up, too. What a terrible father!

Aaaagh. That book is coming out SOON.
And FOB's new album came out three days ago.
What a hullabaloo.

I want to wash my hair in snow

Shampoo works better, but that's okay.
I woke up this morning to a beautiful snowy neighborhood. The view out my window looked like a Thomas Kinkaid painting.
Did anyone else have a psycho 4th grade teacher who LOVED Thomas Kinkaid and forced her students to copy his paintings?
Wasn't it so lame that if you didn't make your painting look EXACTLY like his, you got a low grade?
Sorry SOME of us aren't as artistically talented as others.
And this man has been painting forever. It's not like a couple 4th graders are going to do a perfect job of copying his paintings.
"I've only seen paintings of this painting!"
So yeah, I'm not bitter or anything.
But anyway, as sinful as it sounds, I really DID NOT want to go to church today, and was convinced that the snow meant there would BE no church.
But no. There was church. The snow was just a ruse.
Sigh.
Then we were at a family Christmas party up on Fox Island and it started snowing really heavily and William and I were so PUMPED. NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!! WOOOO!!!
And then we got home and found all of OUR snow melted and gone.
The Suicide Hotline didn't answer my frantic phone call. How depressing.
Tie loved the snow, unlike Oggy, who detested it. She was frolicking around in the backyard, licking up mouthfuls and writing her name in colorful excrement.
I'm writing my English essay on the focus on male relationships in both "Night" and "Swing Kids". I hope Mr. Rosendale doesn't think I'm referring to homoerotic overtones scholars are so convinced they've found in other examples of literature, such as "Romeo and Juliet" (also titled "Romeo and Mercutio").
At least no one else will have done this topic.
But I might be surprised.
The family Christmas party wasn't so bad. Everyone spent a lot of time gazing adorably at baby Riley and there was a lot of good food.
I always feel out of place in our family, though. I'm thinking it's because of the dark hair. Almost everyone in my extended family (on my mom's side, anyway) has blonde hair and blue eyes, except for a few people only related by marriage. But they're all so perfect-Aryan and Scandinavian that I feel like hiding with my dark-haired father and siblings in a corner.
I feel like I've tainted the gene pool.
Actually, it's my dad who's tainted the gene pool.
And my relatives aren't pyscho Nazis, but I feel OUT OF PLACE. People can't tell I'm related to my mom, or my grandparents, or my cousins.
THEY'RE TRYING TO SET ME UP WITH MY SECOND COUSIN! At least I think he's my second cousin. Something like that.
I really hope they don't believe in arranged marriage.
Aaagh.
But if I did marry him, we probably shouldn't have kids.
They'll taint the gene pool.

Dying for your country did nothing for capitalism

People must really hate Veteran's Day. My mom and I went to check out the "big sales" at the mall, and they weren't all that spectacular.
J.C. Penny had this whole thing of, "Buy 1 item for full price and get the second for a dollar!"
So if I buy a pair of $50 jeans, I can get another pair almost for free.
Too bad $50 is way more than I would ever spend on jeans.
And then the lingerie department was like, "10% off all bras!!"
Great. So a $10 bra becomes $9 and a $40 bra becomes $36.
Ooooh, wonderful savings.
Sierra stole Frederick Minut.
She won't give him back.
Amanda's party was pretty intense. Sarah Palin had to save the world from Madam Narcolepsy, and Barack Obama raised taxes, thereby defeating Tentaclewoman.
I ended up with dalmatian gloves, 4 glass rings, and Lola the Stripper Fairy doll.

You Are Scrabble

You are incredibly clever and witty. You can talk your way out of (and into) situations easily.

You are an excellent decision maker. You are good at weighing the options in front of you.

You're the type of person who can make something out of nothing. You are very resourceful.

You know a lot of things. Most importantly, you know when people are wrong - even when they won't admit it.

Barack Obama! You're limiting my TV options!

The election results weren't as bad as I thought they would be.
Of course, Barack Obama won.
Gee, didn't see that one coming.
Even if I didn't (or don't) agree with his politics, people's excitement about his election is contagious.
And all of my friends are genuinely happy and think he'll bring a change.
And, looking on the bright side, he can't be worse than Bush.
I really want to know what kind of puppy he's getting his daughters once they move into the White House.
He definitely deserved to win the election, and John McCain was very sportsmanlike about losing.
I-1000 passed in Washington, though. It pretty much sucks.
I talked to some people about it, though, and their reasoning was, "Well, it costs a lot to keep someone on life support."
Yeah, that's true, too bad it's a COMPLETELY different issue.
I-1000 was about legalized suicide.
How come health care will pay to give someone a lethal injection, but won't pay to help fight the disease?
And how come teens shouldn't commit suicide, but sick adults are allowed to?
When this point was brought up, however, those same people said, "Well, it life support costs a lot."
It's pretty funny. A bunch of kids in my English class are closet conservatives, and we all sit near one another.
I stole my dad's sweatshirt. No, I've never attended Wichita State.
Hi-Chews are on sale, but everyone is broke.
Mmm, that's what Pop Tarts are for.

The Castle Personality Test

You are scared of new experiences. It's hard for you to break outside of your comfort zone.

You like to think that people see you as dramatic and fascinating. You do your best to seem mysterious.

You are a very romantic person. You can't help but see the world as it should be.

Right now, you feel like the whole world is open to you. You see lots of possibilities.

Overall, your life is very peaceful - if not a little solitary. Much of what goes on goes on in your head.

You aren't optimistic about the future. You worry about what will happen to the world and if we'll be able to clean up the messes we've made.

We just finished "The Pit and the Pendulum" in English, and now we're watching a weird movie version that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual story.
The acting is rather horrendous, and all efforts to scare didn't do much for today's desensitized American teenagers.

Truth to power

Stupid creeper day.
Like, really?
I wore all black, gloves, and a skull bandana, and realized some people dress like that everyday because they're "hardcore" and "edgy".
Really, it's NOT THAT edgy.
It's just HOW YOU WEAR YOUR CLOTHES.
And if EVERYONE is wearing lots of black and studs and skulls, you're not breaking any barriers.
It's annoying.
Our class will not win the Ho-Hos. :(
But we did have a party with cake, brownies, and bean-shaped cupcakes?
They were supposed to be shaped by hearts. They did kind of look like hearts.
But beans are better.
The Homecoming Court assembly was boring and rather pointless.
No music, no video, nothing.
They asked the members of the Court what their favorite school memory was.
That was the "entertainment".
Ew, Joshua Harris. I'm going to read his book anyway.
My mom says there's another book that completely disagrees with his point of view.
Ha ha ha. I kissed courtship goodbye, sucka.
My bass sounds very out of tune.
I'll read the sequel, too.
Don't you hate it when you reread a favorite book of yours after several years and it's...definitely NOT as good as you remember?
"Capt. Hook"...it's just not the same.
But it's always nice when you read a favorite book and it's good every time. YEAH.

At least have the balls to say it to my face

Ugh. Frustrating.
The wonderful little youth band told us to come to church at 8:00 AM, so we could "practice".
Turns out that not all of us needed to be there and it was going to be an acoustic session (meaning only the regulars got to play).
Ooookay.
The messed-up thing was the ADULT leader knew NOTHING about this, but the TEENAGE leader did. And his excuse was, "Oh, I forgot," and, "I tried to call some people."
Right. Thanks.
So we "practiced" and they just ignored me and William the entire time. Even if I had a question, it wouldn't get answered unless one of The Chosen Ones spoke up and asked the same thing.
Then, when it came time to play, there's no room for me and William on the stage and they haven't communicated to us AT ALL. It's a wonderful feeling, being ignored.
Screw those people. I'm so freaking finished with them.
And they did the EXACT same thing when Sierra went and she never wants to go back.
I don't blame her.
It's just SO STUPID; they keep asking to people to "volunteer", because "maybe God is calling you", but when people show up, they ostracize them!!!
Seriously, what's even the point?

Quite the vicious circle there, isn't it?

Why does our football team suck this year?
Well, actually, I know why. Evonne told me.
It's just disheartening.
And, yeah, we're the underdogs of the district.
But when we're forced to play good teams from Olympia and Canada, it's almost like they're mocking us.
Pep band is the best.
If playing sports means I can't be in pep band, forget basketball.
Emma is an abusive boyfriend. Girlfriend. Thing.
Ben is semi-perverted but fun to hang out with.
Yes, we were the ones that threw the gum wrappers in Ed's hair.
But I was the one that threw the hackey sack at Paul.
Our trombones had socks. Robert's said "SHO" every time he put it on.
TECHNO!
Fish is so nasty.
I'm going to ask Mr. Anspach if I can stay in French II after all.
Because if I switched out, I'd miss Janessa's generosity and all the sandwich-pounding, soup-spilling good times at lunch, as well as Matt's OCD smoothies and Kay's semi-pornographic gay manga.
Ugh, my internet is broken. So stupid.
Sarah thinks she lost the piano smackdown. But she really didn't.
Jake is weird. Ugh, Emma shouldn't have to leave. She just got here!
And her mom keeps saying stuff about raising money for Emma to go to California with the band, but they'll be gone by then, so is she lying or...?
Cuz everyone knows.
Amber ripped a hole in the space-time continuum. But Chris is the chosen one and has the power to save us all.
Agh. It was just so weird seeing her. Why, hello. This is awkward. Meet my awkward abusive boyfriend/girlfriend. No, Edward, no!

Aaron Carter makes a comeback

Where has Aaron Carter gone? Back to the Abyss, where he belongs??
Because SOMEONE was singing "I Want Candy" all day today.
Ironically, he wouldn't buy any of my chocolate.
Really, if this is the age where chilren are super cynical and text better than they can talk, WHY do adults feel the need to "teach" us how to USE THE INTERNET??
We sat in the library for HALF AN HOUR in English because the librarian had some "interesting" and "useful" things to teach us.
It's like telling kids not to touch each other inappropriately or use racial slurs for the MILLIONTH time.
They already KNOW it.
And my table was all set and ready to check out a book, but the librarian took so long that we had a minute left in the period by the time she was done.
Aaargh.
Ha.
So far, Mr. Rosendale has been my biggest seller with 7 bars, followed by Mr. Freeman with 5, and John with 4 or 5.
Mr. Hurd bought an Almond bar with 75 pennies and 1 quarter.
And he doesn't even like chocolate.
"Eagle Eye" is coming out at midnight on Friday. Aaargh. Shia LaBoeuf.
His name means Shia the Beef.
Francois Truffaut was totally cynical, but kind of amazing. Mr. Anspach wants to show "Wild Child", but I kind of want to see "Jules and Jim".

PINK TEAM!!

PE was pretty intense today. We split into teams, and Alexis, Kevin, Tori, Sarah, and I were on the PINK team. We wore flamboyant jerseys and yelled, "PINK team!!" So you can tell it was fun for everyone else, too, lol. :P
We were also the "Muscular Strength" team. Yeaaah, strong...PINK team!!
Then Mr. Freeman had us play this soccer-ish game where we kicked the ball around and has to exercise the 5 components of fitness if we lost.
Corum bruised my shins SOOOO bad.
Kelsey practically tackled me to the ground.
Ben is hilarious. And he bought a chocolate bar off me. So he's pretty much my new best friend.
Ha, I love the pink team.

I love how completely untrue those were.
Ugh, Sims 2 Prosperity Challenge is so LAME!! I have really big families that eat a lot and don't really do anything exciting.
And there are NO fortune OR romance Sims??
And there are too many elders. :P I tried playing with my first family, but nothing exciting happened, and all my Sims almost DIED because there weren't enough beds!! So I used "maxmotives". And I wasn't even sorry.
I sort of wasted my money on "Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff". Just clothes.
HISTORY WAS SO AMAZING!!! We had to make pyramids, and Maricel made one out of Starbursts and Pez!! It was pretty epic. And then she let us EAT IT!!
Then Ariel unveiled the pyramid cake she had made the night before, and let us eat THAT!!
Why is it that the best moments of my life involve food rather than people?
Hmmmm....
The chocolate bar sale is ON!! Cherrydale Farms. Heh. Pretty delicious. I've sold 19 so far. Only 23 more to go!!

Sacrifice one...

...for the lives of many.
Seriously, it was the only way.
Barton could let Marilyn stay, rather than sending her out into her doom, but then they both would have died, and they would wouldn't have gotten to the sick men in time, resulting in a total of 8 deaths.
He also could have sacrificed himself, but then MARILYN would have had to fly the ship, and the EDS was on a tight schedule, so why would it be good to kill yourself for one girl when other people need you?
And Marilyn was a STOWAWAY, which is pretty much ILLEGAL, and for which the stowaway was condemned to death in the law.
So maybe it wasn't completely fair, but there were consequences for the choice she made.
Although she WAS a really nice person and didn't deserve to have her lungs ripped through her chest.

You Are 45% Pirate

Ahoy matey! Ye can think o' yerself as a swashbuckler in trainin'.

If ye study hard an 'do what the captain tells ye, ye may be gettin' part o' the booty.

Get to work on yer pillagin', swordfightin', an' drinkin'.

Ye dasn't want to end up in Davy Jones' locker, so make sure ye pipe down when the captain be around.

Argh argh argh. So kind of a crappy day.
I'm having MAJOR PMS.
That, and the weather is crappy and Washington-like, and I'm still sick, and I went to the orthodontist and I'll be wearing these retainers for-freaking-ever, and we had the LAMEST assembly during advisory today.
Uggggh.
But I'm mostly mad about the stupid orthodontist thing. AAAAARGH IT'S BEEN 6 FREAKING YEARS SINCE I STARTED "TREATMENT" I WANT TO BE DONE!!
But noooooooooooo, I have to wear these retainers for another 8 MONTHS.
If braces are so expensive, why did my parents MAKE me get them if they need the money?
And if they didn't need the money then, they could have at least gotten me a pony.
Stop Global Warming...
...or all the Reese's will melt!

Mondays, Mondays, Mondays

Yesterday was a Monday.
I hate Mondays.
Don't you hate it when you happen to glance at your horoscope while reading Dear Abby at the end of the day and discover that your 3 star day should have been a 5 star day?
It just doesn't add up.
Ha ha, we got to use the weight machines today in PE. Ha ha! Too bad I'm a weakling with no upper body strength. Ironically, dips are easier when there is more weight.
That rooms smells awful. Sort of like feet and tapioca and cheap white chocolate.
This week is POWER COLOR WEEK. I've worn nothing but power colors and it feels great.
Ooooh, I was so looking forward to the new blogthings quizzes, and they're so very innacurate!

What Your Handbag Says About You

You tend to be relaxed throughout the day. You are naturally at peace.

You are a low maintenance person. You can adapt to a variety of situations.

You are an organized and together person. You are competent and successful.

You are an outgoing and expressive person. You always speak your mind, and you're very approachable.

You are a very unique and special person. There's no one else who is anything like you.

So much for youth band. After band, I felt like crap, so I went home sick. I ended up watching "The Crucible", which just made me sicker. That movie is not enjoyable, but it's very well mad and powerful. I cried a whole bunch. Daniel Day-Lewis. I thought he was sort of over the top.
Well, the last part is true.

What's Sexy About Your Name

You are sexy because you are very dreamy. You are often lost in a lush fantasy.

You are a sincere and devoted partner. You are attracted to troubled souls.

You will do anything for the person you love, and in the bedroom, you aim to please.

Once you fall for someone, you're hooked. You give all of yourself to make the relationship work.

Of all the types, you're the most likely to have a secret fantasy life.

And for you, your fantasy life can be more real than your actual life at times.

Blue eyes are overrated.

I look in the mirror and they sicken me.
Brown eyes just look better.
And blue eyes are often the target of authors who wish to prattle on and on about the character's "piercing gaze".
Ugh, I had my last drive today. Thank God it's finally over. I never get nervous before a big test, so it ticks me off when I make stupid mistakes anyway that I can't attribute to nerves.
But, again, Ed yelled at me FAR MORE than he yelled at Phoebe.
But that's probably just me being paranoid.
Or in denial.
Ugh, I'm so glad to see the back of him, and I think for him the feeling's mutual. There's no need to make me feel like a complete and total failure for not turning my wheels when parking on a hill.
And then my dad made things worse by spazzing out over some quizzes I needed to make up, and I didn't know which ones I had to make up, so he was all, "WHY AREN'T YOU TELLING ME???"
Ticks me off to know end. It's called listening, try it some time.
Ugh I'm just really PMS-y right now.
I just finished "The Crucible", which both Mr. Hurd and Mr. Rosendale reccommended, and that was pretty dang depressing.
Cliff notes for The Crucible: Everyone dies.
I didn't agree with part of what the author was trying to portray, though.
But that happens all the time.
ENOUGH WITH THE SARAH PALIN JOKES!
Cyrano de Bergerac is my hero.
I wish I could come up with good comebacks like he does.
Mr. Anspach is showing the 1950 film in class and it's pretty sweet.
I love how he has a big nose, but flaunts it. Which is what I try to do. But he's a pro.
Roxanne is such a lame-o, though. You don't tell your guy friend you like another guy. You just don't. It's awkward and cruel. I almost cried when he realized Roxanne didn't love him back. :(
But he only likes her because she's pretty. Seriously.

Don't ask, don't tell

I wasn't sure what that meant at first.
So I retook the McCain/Obama quiz, and I am 76% for McCain and 24% for Obama.
Tie and I went on a walk with Alexis and her dogs. Cosmo was there, too, and Tie tried to eat him, but Isabel rescued him and there was a death match.
BEAT DOWN!
SCHOOL SUPPLY SHOPPING!!! One of the best days of the year. But I really didn't need that much, so I just bought some binders and a couple T-shirts.
Where are all the composition notebooks??? I couldn't find them!!
There was a T-shirt that said "Vader for Prez '08" but I couldn't find one in my size. >:(
I would totally vote for Vader.
Take a ride on the dark side.
Eeeee, tomorrow is going to be so cool!
Spoken like a true sophomore, I know, but seriously!! I get to start AND end the day with a cool class.
Oh, but I do have PE first thing.
And the PE teacher is a psycho.
-_- Oh well, at least all my band buddies are in it.
"The Big Bang Theory" is pretty much the best show on television.
Better than "High School Musical: Get in the Picture", anyway. Too much drama. There are some pretty fine guys on it, though. STAN IS NOT ONE OF THEM!! James is in the chorus. :(
Ugh, and whenever he has a lead part and he messes up, the faculty excuses it because he's smooth, or whatever.
Isaiah is the MAN!
But Sheldon on Big Bang Theory pretty much makes my day, even though he's such a jerk. And he wears funny pants.
"I'm going to collaborate with you!"
And Daniel Kim got a girl at 15-years-old, so they're all jealous.
The first season came out on DVD today!!! WANT!

Brooding vampires make me salivate

I HATE Stephenie Meyer.
Actually, I probably hate Bella more.
Nah, it's pretty even.
Seriously, it's impossible for me to feel any kind of sympathy for that girl.
And who could ever love Edward?
What a controlling jerk.
From what I learned about abusive relationships last year (and, trust me, we learned WAY more than we wanted to know), Edward's and Bella's is verging on one.
Personally, I like Jacob a lot better. He actually seems like a worthwhile person who (for some unknown reason) actually cares about Bella.
Edward is SUCH A JERK. Can't get over that.
He took all her stuff so she'd forget him.
He left her alone...but only because "he loved her so much".
And Stephenie Meyer was trying to show how "mature" and "wise" he was when he thanked Jacob for watching Bella, but then he wouldn't allow Bella to talk to Jacob.
And Jacob had been worried because he thought Edward was controlling her.
NEWSFLASH: he IS!
They're compared to Romeo and Juliet.
Hm, that's pretty accurate.
Those two were also horny, melodramatic teenage idiots.
Another thing that really bugs me: Stephenie Meyer is being called the next J. K. Rowling.
What a horrible, HORRIBLE thing to say.
J. K. Rowling wrote books that managed to make you care what would happen to the characters, and made it easy for both kids and adults to enjoy them.
Stephenie Meyer has written an average (actually, very sub-par) vampire novel for horny teenage girls that really enjoy necrophilia and bestiality for some reason.
That's not talent.

A movie critic's dream

So I'm currently at Kristine's house with her and Sierra and we're just chilling and watching movies.
We've watched some "Monk", a very well-known Anthony Hopkins movie ^_^, and "Stardust", and now, for some reason, we're watching "George of the Jungle".
Agh, this space bar is impossible, and Thomas Hayden Church is creeping me out.
Mmmm, pizza.
But my dad didn't deliver it. :(
I was so looking forward to it.
AAAAAAAAAGH I HATE Old Town so much. Driving around it is the equivalent of Sunday School.
Ha, pretty much.
Which means it sucks, by the way.
For some reason, Ed REALLY seems to hate me, and I don't know why.
Because when Phoebe and I both screw up, he's all up in my face, but not so much in hers.
I don't blame her, though, just Ed.
He probably thinks that because I resemble a man, I can take criticism like one.
Phoebe is the ONLY person who's noticed my teeth without me telling her.
It would be cool if we were going to the same school.
But no...she's a coug.
AAAGH Brendan Fraser. Hatred, hatred, hatred.
Him and his buggy eyes.
Has he HONESTLY never seen a girl before?
"Stardust" = most romantic movie ever!!!
Too cute.

Smile, it's the end of the world!

I GOT MY BRACES OFF!!
And, somehow, it doesn't seem worth it.
All my teeth are really big and white and straight like little tombstones, but it really doesn't look all that attractive.
And I never smile with my mouth open, so what's the point?
And now I have to wear two retainers.
Yeah, TWO.
And they make it a little hard to talk.
And I have to wear them all the time.
This reminds me of the rubber band fiasco.
But they DID fund a trip to Coldstone for me and my family because they'd run out of caramel apples.
I can be pacified with ice cream.
Coldstone is better than Ferdinand's, I think.
I love Ferdinand's, but they don't have as many creative flavors.
Now I can eat CARAMEL!
After I take out my retainers, anyway.
But it was sort of embarrassing trying to ask my dad for "toaster strudels" and he was like, "What? WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?"
Tie is feeling better today, but she still itches and is sort of listless.
What happened to my sanguine dog?

Masochism Day: Painfully Good

Have you ever drunk two very caffeinated sodas and, as a result, were unable to sleep until the wee hours of the morning?
If not, I don't reccomend it.
Mountain Lightning is good and all, but it's pretty powerful for a cheap version of Mountain Dew.
So, when Saturday was just beginning and everyone else was sleeping, I was wide awake reading "The Jane Austen Book Club" and thinking about very random things. Or rather, one thing that wasn't so random.
It was weird.
So I decided today should be Masochism day, a day where people all around the world revisit old memories and take part in activities that are sure to cause them harm or discomfort.
That's sort of what I've been doing today.
I drove all the way to Walmart - on the highway!!
I also did a BLT whilst going very fast, and almost hit 3 people.
Oops.
