He's fast! He's strong! He'll pop all your bloons!
School finally let out on Thursday. Classes were only 27 minutes long, but each class was the longest 27 minutes of my life.
And I wore a skirt for the first time in 2 or 3 years. I was girling it up. Flaunting it. All that good stuff.
Then we went to Dairy Queen and I got the crappiest dipped cone I'd ever seen.
It was like a mountain rather than a triumphant curlicue. And not a beautiful mountain. If there is such a thing.
And it tasted like a melancholy cloud.
It would've been poetic if it hadn't been so disgusting.
GROSS!
And the weather has kind of sucked since then. It was like, "Woooo, Summer Break!!!" And yet there are clouds in the sky, it's down to 50 degrees, and it rained today.
Fun.
I hate it here.
But we went to Seattle for the Mariners game, which made me love Washington again.
I know. We have a complicated relationship.
My dad and I sat right behind home plate, and talked about music ("Do you like Candlebox Twenty?" "....") while eating delicious pizza and full-fat ice cream.
Yeah, I'll be honest; I only got to baseball games for the food.
But I managed to pay attention...and we won! So that was nice.
The helmet cups were overrated. It's $7 for a helmet full of ice cream, and you say to yourself, "A whole HELMET? With whipped cream? $7? BRING IT ON!" So you troop over to the ice cream stand and wait in line forever, all while chanting and psyching yourself up for a whole HELMETFUL of ICE CREAM! It's 7-year-old Bill Cosby's dream-come-true. So you get up there and fork over 7 bucks and choose from a grand total of 3 flavors...and then they bring out the helmet.
It's tiny.
It's smaller than the $5 cups they use for ice cream.
It's a rip off.
But it's so darn cute!

Robots are just as sympathetic
Have you ever wondered what one should do to acquire a shopping cart? How much do they cost? If you weren't going to steal one or pull one out of a dump, could you walk into a grocery store and ask for one? Or would you have to buy it? "Yes, well, I need a shopping cart to put all my personal belongings in."
My new coat looks like a trenchcoat. I look like Carmen Sandiego, only not as hot. I think everyone had a secret crush on Carmen. If they didn't, why would they spend so much looking for her?
Homeless people make me sad. Not, "Oh, wow, that's depressing, I'll go buy a coffee and sip melancholy-like", or, "Those pathetic losers, spending all their money on cigs," sad. A woman came up to me today sobbing because she didn't have any pads. She wanted $5 to go buy some and I FROZE.
Then I started to cry.
The ones with the shopping carts are so stoic, too, like, "Yeah, that's life." Some have dogs that look up dolefully at you, like, "Sure, it sucks, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
I saw one a couple months ago who was holding a sign that said, "Anything helps, even a smile." It was weird and kind of touching to see an optimist who saw cheapskates walking by, smiling guiltily, and smiled back at them because anything DID help.
I only gave that woman a couple of cents.
I had a 5 dollar bill in my pocket.

Being an Anthony Rapp spaz
MWAHAHAHA the "Rent" soundtrack is MINE!!!!!
The DELUXE version, too, with all the songs, for $27 dollars at Barnes & Noble!!!
Overpriced, yeah, but SO worth it.
Ha. Incendiary wit.
My dad is so jealous.
WHY ARE MY DREAMS SO WEIRD???
Maybe it's because of what I eat.
Maybe there are copious amounts of hallucinogens are being fed me by my parents.
I don't know.
But the Michael Phelps dreams have to stop.
Especially the ones where I somehow end up married to him.
It probably wouldn't be very fun to be married to Michael Phelps.
I couldn't handle the fame...or the ego.
Michael: Yeah. I won 8 gold medals last Olympics. More than anyone ever! I'm the greatest Olympics champion that ever lived!
Lauren: That's nice, honey.
Michael: Feel my arms. Feel them. FEEL THEM!!
Lauren: *half-heartedly pokes a bicep* Yeah. Nice.
Michael: I won 8 gold medals with these babies. Did I say that already?
Lauren: Yes, honey.
Michael: Well, that's what happens when you swim 18 hours a day.
Lauren: I know. That's all you did on our honeymoon.
Michael: Yeah. Good times, good times.
Seattle is pretty much the cooliest.
"What You Own" made my mom spit up laughing.
Lisa and I have vowed to finish the "Twilight" series, no matter how awful it is.
And as melodramatic and boring as "New Moon" is, I can't NOT finish it.
Vampires are overrated.

Itchy, drugged terriers need cream cheese.
We just got Tie back from Courtney and she is thoroughly miserable. Courtney took her to a park and Tie got fleas.
????
We've taken Tie to parks before and she's never gotten fleas.
So she's not acting like herself at all.
She mostly stays in her bed and when, she does get up, flinches and bites herself so much that she runs back to bed.
She still hasn't finished food from dinner.
And she didn't drink for hours, so when she finally did, she drank almost the whole bowl.
I'm really worried about her, but my mom gave her a cream cheese pill and some flower oil, so she said she'd be okay.
I hope.
:(
Sure....
I had a drive at 11 AM today, but it was fun because it was around town, not just in the older part of town, which SUCKS because there are no stoplights or landmarks. Today, Ed had us drive to the mall, Dairy Queen (we didn't buy anything), and go around a roundabout.
Driver's Ed was sort of fun. Phoebe and I had to plan a road trip from Silverdale to WSU.
Which, funnily enough, is the route I took a couple days ago.
Too, too funny.
But the trip itself had to take at least 5 days, and we had to make 6 recreational stops.
So we went to the Space Needle (or the Space Noodle, in Jeff's words), the EMP, Mount Baker, Soap Lake, some other fantastic lake, and Nathan's best friend's family's house.
Which is where I stayed 2 days ago. Ha.
I'M GETTING MY BRACES OFF TOMORROW!!!!
Toffee for LIFE!
Yes, there will be a retainer, but WHO CARES?

If pizzas are round and trash cans are round, WHY ARE PIZZA BOXES SQUARE?
What do you know, I'm a winter?
Just like Elizabeth Taylor.
When she was still hot.
Ew, and Catherine Zeta Jones.
Now I can get a swatch packet and make-up just for me from Color Me Beautiful.
Don't worry, I don't intend to.
We went to the EMP today. Nathan and I went into the recording studio to mess around, but I'm not that good at bass and he can't play guitar, bass, piano, OR drums, so we switched off and sucked badly.
But the rest of the EMP was TOO COOL. There was an exhibit about the musical progression in the Northwest, covering everything from "Louie Louie" to grunge.
It was nice to see that music in and from Washington actually made a difference, especially concerning grunge and garage rock.
"Barracuda" by Heart is my new favorite song.
I got to listen to it in one of the other exhibits.
Then I went and listened to Alen Menken talk about "Little Shop of Horrors". His songs were pretty hilarious.
AAAAAAH I'm going on my first drive tomorrow and I'm SO NERVOUS. I have to wake up early, because it's at 1:00 and for some reason I don't want to miss it.
In case I sleep in till 12:00 or something.
I just keep thinking, "I am going to die, I am going to die."
Or I keep thinking, "Crap, I might forget my permit. WHAT IF I FORGET MY PERMIT?"
I am not unhappy with my permit picture. It looks semi-cute, but my head's cocked for some reason, and I REALLY thought I'd been holding it straight. So if it's really cocked to the side when I think it's straight....what happens if I cock my head?
